Computer Applications is the study of the application of computer software in the corporate world. It deals with the learning of various programming languages, and calls for impeccable proficiency in Java, C++, Python, etc. The degree given in this field is a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), which is a more ‘job-ready’ course.

Computer Applications is one of several academic events sanctioned by the University Interscholastic League Computer Applications have designed to test students’ abilities to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications software, including integration of applications. It is not the same as the Computer Science contest, which tests programming abilities. Computer Applications began during the 1994-95 scholastic year, replacing the Keyboarding contest previously held by UIL.
